Sir Van Morrison

One of Music's True Originals

Born in 1945 Van heard his Shipyard worker father’s collection of blues, country and gospel early in life. Feeding off musical greats such as Hank Williams, Jimmie Rodgers, Muddy Waters, Mahalia Jackson and Leadbelly he was a travelling musician at 13 and singing, playing guitar and sax, in several bands, before forming Them in 1964.

When three of Van's most iconic albums, Astral Weeks, Moondance, and His Band and the Street Choir were slated to go live across the most popular music streaming services, we were asked to create engaging animations to draw attention and drive traffic to these platforms.

Bringing Listeners to Music Platforms

We approached each album animation with a fresh perspective to account for the widely varying artwork for each. We worked with Warner Music to hone in on exactly the right visual style, pace, and effects to appeal to his target audience and accurately represent the original artwork and music.

Using the master audio tracks, we engineered 3 combinations of the songs, blending and combining the music to create a seamless and satisfying soundbed to accompany the animated artwork and direct attention to streaming services featuring Van Morrison.
